Hey, remember that one time "America's Sweetheart" Natalie Portman '03 thought she was a good actress and was pretty but also a deep person with lots of artistic integrity? Remember that one time I thought Natalie Portman was a good actress and pretty and that her life had some sort of merit and was a positive item of our society? Yeah, me neither.
Anyway, this one time she thought she was hot shit (I repeat- she isn't) and made a stupid indie movie about having to have sex with Zach Braff while working out with Governor Jim McGreevey '82 (yeah, he's one of us) and then drowning herself in the Hudson River. Well, whatever, the point is, Natalie Portman is untalented, average looking, and really, really annoying.
Getting that relevant information aside, a couple of alums that we are actually fans of seem to have taken the Portman route and produced an independent film about graduate angst and existentialism (they're all about existentialism), left to free interpretation. With it's open-ended ending and epic open-ended beginning, all throughout the free association piece one feels the tranquility of Middle American Republicanism fuse with the anger of homelessness and minefield terror (and a dash of teenaged self-esteem despair and drug abuse).
This film is about anything your heart desires, and then some. We present to you the debut of New Cinema Masterpiece "Wish You Were Here", produced graduates by Laura P. Hensch '09 and Rachel Z. Montana '08:
