This, of course, is a major problem. And the solution- the only solution for the most insatiable of Harvard attention-seekers, is a simple one: Run for president of the UC! It worked for John Voith '07, it worked for Ryan Petersen '08, Leo Zimmermann '09 and will most certainly/unfortunately work for Ben Schwartz '10. But the competition being what it is (the most experienced member of the UC, some final clubber, Peter Bacon '11), it's going to be really hard for Koenigs to stand out. We even have rumors of a rogue run over there by Tony Britt '10 (one of those people that has suddenly been possessed with the spirit of Barack Obama and thus thinks it pertinent to speak only in "impassioned" public speeches), who may or may not be vetting anyone and everyone from obscure Hispanic Edwin Acosta '10 to rumored blackbelt and espionage master Michael Kapps '11. So the race is tough for Andrea Flores '10 (unless she picks, oh I don't know, Nikita Makarchev '11 as veep) to lose, but even tougher for anyone to steal the spotlight from the droves of obnoxious attention-mongers that will be clamoring to the Science Center microphones for an "inspirational speech". That said, we're all about giving the third-party candidates some mainstream attention, so give it up for Michael Koenigs in his political debut:Wednesday, November 12, 2008
New Candidates Come to the Fore! ...Michael Koenigs '09?
Michael Koenigs '09, aka Harvard Hooligan aka HRTV ex-president aka That Guy that Keeps Releasing Those Videos About How Stressed He is During Reading Period, hasn't really gotten all that much attention since that one time Will Ferrell mysteriously was like "hey, I want to be interviewed by Harvard, too!" and was conned into an interview with Koenigs instead of, say, Drew Faust.
This, of course, is a major problem. And the solution- the only solution for the most insatiable of Harvard attention-seekers, is a simple one: Run for president of the UC!
