Michael Henderson '11- Freshman Rep, North Yard Hometown: Dale, Oklahoma
Dorm: Thayer/Leverett
Current Position: Rep, Chairman- HUDS Committee
Why He's One to Watch: Michael Henderson '11, while not necessarily the heir apparent to the UC throne as Ms. Usui, is one of the most enigmatic figures on the UC from the class of 2011. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Mr. Henderson combines the almost down-home populist approach with a winning affability that ensured his UC success and, importantly, made a name for himself as an easy-going, approachable student on campus.
Why do we think he's going to make such a huge impact on Harvard, though? First, that innate political genius has served him well on perhaps the most surprisingly active UC committee since Calendar Reform, even more than Dowling II: Electric Boogaloo. Indeed, Mr. Henderson was the head of the HUDS Committee, a primo posting this year as the antics of Lowell and Mather sent HUDS into the consciousness of every Harvardian. He was on the front lines of the HUDS shenanigans, and that perhaps got him noticed by UC bigwigs such as Sundquist-SaROFLCopter, Ragalisaurus Rex, and others.
But that same affability has also made an impact on the more amorous aspects of Harvard's campus. Behind every cool, friendly exterior is the soul of a ladies' man (at least after my encounter with that douchebag at the Phoenix's pre-punch event). It's no different with Mr. Henderson. His list of lady friends is indeed long and storied. We aren't in the business of exposing flings, but Mr. Henderson…dayummmm. That's not to mention he is always at the side of Aaron "Oh-So-Dreamy" Oehlschlaeger '11; these two lady killers walk Harvard and girls swoon.
Whatever may come in the next few years with Mr. Henderson, we are sure that he will remain a fixture of the campus. Our prediction…if there's someone who can help stop the machinations of the Quad to seize control of Harvard, it may rest on the shoulders of this man.
