Why She's One to Watch: Maia Usui is, by all accounts, an exceptional woman. Fluent in several languages, raised and educated in some of the most renowned schools throughout the globe, and a budding politician since her days in high school in Bangkok, it seems that Ms. Usui was set to enter the UC since she got her acceptance letter. Nevertheless, beyond that dazzling smile is ambition: an ambition aided and abetted by none other than the UC itself. Usui, Gossip Geek 
has come to learn, is a part of a vast, Quad-wing conspiracy to maintain their hold on the reins of power. While currently two River dwellers hold the reins of power, do not forget that (who was a president from the Quad?) were also presidents. Indeed, with the heirs apparent to the UC throne, Jon Staff '10 and Andrea Flores '10, members of Currier House, there is some suspicion that the Quadlings are prepping a scheme of their own to maintain their stranglehold on power. Gossip Geek has acquired several documents so secretive that we cannot show you. On the minutes of a UC meeting, this text was found:
8:50 PM Zander Li ['08] calls a point of information blah blah blah. OMG Mike Rigalie ['09] and Tamar [Holoshitz '10]! I can't believe it! They're sooooo good for each other! Hmmm, what to do while I zone out…what do I have to do later…

It's almost as though no one on the UC reads their meeting minutes! That third item is clearly an indication of her work with Flores and Staff in order to seize control of the UC for the Quad. This, of course, is troubling to any sane/River-dwelling person. It seems that the UC is set for domination by Ms. Usui.
