UPDATES (send any developing tips to
gossipgeek@gmail.com)!:
- Christopher Augustine Ballesteros '12, now a known competitor for a UC seat in whatever Yard Matthews is in, removed his propaganda from the internets. Maybe we saved his campaign! Which means you'll have to deal with all his propaganda nonsense AGAIN in the fall! Hooray!
- At least four members of the UC Election commission are well aware of the matter, although it is still unknown whether they are outraged about it. We also do not have information regarding whether the EC chair, Steven W. Cupps '09, has been informed of the matter, and will be contacting him soon for comment.

- We DO know that this is a breach of UC protocol, but because the consequences of such are not clearly defined, we don't know how the EC will deal with this yet, other than having word from some anonymous commissioners that they are leaning towards abiding by the law in strict constitutional fashion.
- And, the most fascinating development of the night- we got hilarious hate mail! From, like, some chick in Hawaii- Barack Obama's home state! Here, the email in its entirety:

"First and foremost, whoever wrote that disgusting article about Chris Ballesteros better grow up pretty fast. If you're just jealous of him, just say so and quit putting fictitious accusations and lies on the internet for everyone to read. You're in college...grow up. It's not hard. Unfortunately, Chris is way ahead of you in that part."
First of all, the sender of this email is not a Harvard student that we know of, so they probably wouldn't know that (a) we're both a parody and informative news site and (b) UC law has to be applied strictly because Harvard happens to be brimming with people who would do anything for power.
Second of all, as jealous as we are of his dead sexy looks and bustling photography business, we're just upholding the great American institution that is the Harvard UC, buddy, and making sure things are fair for all prospective candidates.
We're the press- the watchdogs of the law, the fourth branch of government. We're supposed to protect America from sneaky little weasels or misinformed yes-men who are out to subvert the law. It happened to Eliot Spitzer '84, it happened to Sarah Palin, and, yes, Chris Ballesteros- it is happening to you.
