Wastebasket News Plagiarizes Us YET AGAIN

Ok, so, when Wastebasket News, a failed attempt at a comical UC gossip blog (mostly because all the people on it are either legitimately interested in the UC or of highly questionable moral fiber- in the boring way), decided it would be a great idea to abuse animated GIFs all over their faux-old parchment, look-at-us-OMG-we-go-to-Harvard smug layout, we said nothing. When they thought it would be pertinent to randomly attack a member of the UC Election Commission and link their sad, sad, fate with ours, we said nothing, because we are ladies. Even when they finally recanted and instead of apologizing for their douchery just continued to rip us off and wrote an elaborate piece that is GossipGeek and calling us cowards of writing a comedy blog "anonymously" when the entire joke is that Harvard students take themselves so seriously that they would be simultaneously offended by a completely ridiculous, obviously comedic gossip blog and turned on by the fact that someone knows them from some extracurricular, we said nothing.

But now you guys have gone too far.

If you're going to be toolish enough to call us "cowards" for what we do, have the decency not to plagiarize us and then take credit for being SO WITTY. And, really, maybe we shouldn't be taking our anger out on every single person involved in this blog. Randall Sarafa '09 has proven against all odds to be the most agile comedian of the bunch, making his posts readable by adding images (gasp!) and, well, we just really like the thought of Andrea Flores '10 LOLcats. Matt Sundquist '09 is slightly more humoristically challenged, but that's obviously not his job- he's the UC encyclopedia, and he's a great read. Markus Kolic '09 has been our BFF since, like, forever thanks to Dem Apples, and everyone else has been kind of quiet, except for Garrett Dash "Spice" Nelson '10. We don't even know who this is, but he's the sole culprit of every one of these crimes of envy and passion that not only make us look bad because he's associating us with him, but actively try to harm us. We usually don't like to generically point people out and be like "that guy is such an asshole", but, come on, plagiarizing GossipGeek? Has this university really sunk that low?
So, anyway, we can't do anything about what a huge douche this Nelson (not to be confused with the super awesome magnificent one-of-our-favorite-people-ever Nelson Greaves '10) is, and we can't really do anything to make them stop stealing our material, but at the very least we can start an online petition! If you hate this trashbag plagiarist thief as much as we do, please sign this petition! Fake names welcome.
