Something to Watch While You Slave Over Your Lit A-86 Project

No one has ever accused Gossip Geek of being too political, but we do enjoy a good campaign once in a while, especially if it includes some hot campus celebs and final club fixtures.

So, while you're working hard at your protest song, pamphlet, or meaningless paper about "Angels in America", here's a video a bunch of people in Lit A-86: Protest Lit, made to promote youth voting in the upcoming elections. Celebrities of note in the video include Justin Gerrard '10, Alex Sloane '09, Will Houghteling '09, Barack Obama '91, and a bunch of "youth voters" that unfortunately don't know their ass from their elbow about politics.

For the record, GossipGeekers are active politically and, excepting the writers whose states are so corrupt that they actively refuse to send us absentee ballots, we all vote. GossipGeek is officially endorsing Ron Paul in the 2008 elections (When he inevitably drops out, we will endorse Mike Gravel).

(Note: we posted this in particular because the campus celebs in this video are friends of GossipGeek- that is, they have never requested anything about them on the site to be taken down, and we respect people with a message and a sense of humor. Thanks guys!)

It's unfortunate that our electoral system is structured to disenfranchise people who happen to live in states at the political margins.

It's also unfortunate that we have a system that creates a forced choice between using our 'voice' more authentically to vote for a third party or more pragmatically (to make our 'voice' 'heard').

Sometimes voting might be naive...
