An anonymous tipster having lunch at Henrietta's Table the other day spied Alex de Carvalho '08 sipping bloody mary's with a few of his high-profile chums, among them Christos Kaplanis '08, James Hirschfeld '08, Alexa Hirschfeld '07, Halsey Mayer '07, and Rina Onur '08. If you vaguely recognize those names but are unsure where you've heard them before, it's because these notable pioneers are the founders of Harvard's first co-ed finals club, the Pee (get it? It's the Bee and the Spee combined). The sextet knocked back a few hundred dollars in drinks and then argued over who could leave the biggest tip; one of them finally just handed over a credit card, making the waitress promise to spend the remaining balance on birth control and not crack. While eavesdropping on their conversation, our tipster noted how de Carvalho worked up a sweat when his friends started discussing plans to put in a few million dollars each to visit Alexa and Halsey in The City (New York City to the layman), go skiing in Europe, and then spend spring break with Donald Trump and Oprah in Saudi Arabia. Apparently, de Carvalho was nervous because he's lost his inheritance and is now poor. His parents disowned him after he admitted his utter lack of interest in the family business (beer). The unhappy parents were shocked to learn that de Carvalho is set on pursuing his first and only love: dance. While the cessation of his allowance has caused him to lose his suite at the Taj and his own personal line on the T, his newfound freedom has given him the perfect opportunity to show his skills shimmying to the sweet sounds of Marc Anthony on the dance floor. What's more, he's pretty good, and it is now his main source of income. We think the sacrifice was worth it. Congratulations, Alex! Best of luck!

It is one thing to report real rumors or to even write about your Nick Brown crush but there is no way that something like this could ever be true. While some people get that most people don't. To be honest i have really enjoyed this blog until now. I don't know Alex well but from what i do know he is an extremely down to earth and nice guy. I am also not part of the final club scene and actually really don't get it. At the same time I don't really see the point in making up lies about people.
The motive of this site should be to report Harvard gossip...not to get out your own social frustrations. I would not be surprised if blogspot shuts you down or if you get sued for libel once people figure out who you are.

I agree, everyone really needs to learn to lighten up and take things less seriously. Besides, somehow I very highly doubt that Alex is too concerned with this article.
